Kristin Bjella

Kristin Bjella provides legal advice and assists in litigation within the areas of energy and natural resources, as well as infrastructure, transactions. Her experience is derived from her work with legal and strategic advice in major renewable energy and distribution projects, including infrastructure such as ports.

Kristin has extensive experience from licensing processes, land rights acquisition and expropriation law.  She is known for her in-depth knowledge of international law and administrative law frameworks for land acquisition rights in reindeer herding areas.

Kristin is admitted to the Supreme Court and regularly conducts cases before Norwegian courts. She was a member of the expert committees drafting the proposal for the Norwegian Dispute Act and the Arbitration Act. She is experienced in arbitration, both as an arbitrator and counsel. In 2018, she acted as counsel for Finnmarkseiendommen before the Supreme Court in a plenary session on the right to land and natural resources in Finnmark.
