Ola Hermansen is an associate in Hjort’s Energy and Environmental Law department. Hermansen has comprehensive experience with water resources and energy law, in addition to administrative law from his time as legal counsel at The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE).
Hermansen advises clients within a broad spectrum of practice areas related to water resources, windmills, energy grids, district heating, electric certifications, nature and environmental law. He has a substantial understanding of water resource and energy supply branches, and assists with all aspects from revisions of old water resources to the roll-out of AMS meters and digitalization of the energy industry.
Hermansen has special expertise in emergency preparedness and security, and especially in ICT security. He was secretary of the Holte Committee, which evaluated the regulation and organization of IT security in Norway. His synergy expertise in both technology and energy is often in demand by clients who are in the process of digitization.
Hermansen also has substantial competency and commitment to the energy issues of the future through work on both CCS (carbon capture, transport and storage), as well as offshore wind.
Hermansen has international experience through studies and with energy regulation work for various nations’ authorities.
